Research Institute for Radiation Medicine and Ecology, Semey, Kazakhstan

I was regularly involved in research activities. I worked actively in several research projects in Kazakhstan as well as in the International epidemiological projects on the assessment of the Radiation health effects in the population of Kazakhstan exposed to radiation due to Nuclear Weapon Tests on the Semipalatinsk Test Site. The main projects for me were: International projects «INCO COPERNICUS» included study the causes of death in the population of Semipalatinsk region for the period from 1949 to 1999 as well as historical cohort study;  Evaluation of reproductive health of people living in areas adjacent to Semipalatinsk Test Site in cooperation with the Institute of Cancer Research (UK); Scientific and social national program “Development of science based technologies to minimize the environmental risk for prevention of adverse effects to public health” which is being performed the present time in the Semey State Medical University.

Clinical – I have been working in the Pulmonology Department of Semey Hospital of Urgent Care as a physician.  Also I have consultative practice in the patient suffered from hypertension in the frame of my scientific work.

Teaching – I have been teaching both Kazakhstan and foreign students from Pakistan and India in the fields of Internal Medicine and Evidence based Medicine.
